Last year, I discussed my routine instead of setting goals year after year. Read by clicking the link below:

This year, I will share how my routine allowed me to have unique life experiences with friends and family.

Having Cerebral Palsy affects my balance. When I was 60+ pounds overweight, it impacted not only my health but what I could experience in living life to the fullest. I have kept the weight off for three years by being consistent with my routine.

In March, with the help of friends (like family), I joined Kelly and I on a Carribean Cruise. I walked on the beautifully warm sand into the ocean: the waves, the views, the experience. I even had a religious experience of rolling on the water.

In October, I had the opportunity to scuba dive for the first time. With my amazing cousins Kathryne and Jason, my wife and I went to Jamaica for our first-ever (not the last) cousin's trip. My cousin Jason kept convincing me that I could experience this. I’m forever grateful for his coaching, support, and the constant pursuit of convincing the Scuba school to have me certified. A big part of my workout is squats, weights, and cardio which had me in physical condition to try this. I had to take two pool training at the resort to pass. To be able to experience this with my two cousins, who have been an incredibly supportive family to me my whole life, was the best part of this.

A group of six people is gathered around a dinner table at an outdoor evening setting, possibly on a beach given the presence of sand and dim lighting. The table is set with white plates, multiple glasses, and cutlery, indicating a formal meal. There is a variety of drinks on the table, including a bottle of red wine, glasses of sparkling wine, and a glass of red wine. The atmosphere is convivial and casual with some guests leaning towards the camera, smiling, and appearing to enjoy the occasion

I describe my experience in a 3 minute video below:

The reason why we work hard, continually grow, and take care of ourselves is to experience the most out of life. The reason why I struggle so hard is to live. Live for today. The last two years have taught me time on this earth is not promised.

What will you do for self-care to improve your ROI for living?

Until next time…
